Trees and Woodland Strategy Engagement

This engagement has now closed.

The Council is preparing a Tree and Woodland Strategy to provide a clear direction for the future management of all trees in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP). To help us do this, we asked people who live, work and/or visit the BCP area for their views on the benefits, threats, challenges and future priorities for trees in the conurbation.

Have Your Say

The feedback received has been used to help inform the vision, priorities and actions featured in the forthcoming Urban Forest Strategy.

We asked respondents to give us their views by completing an online survey. They could also drop pins, add comments and/or post images about any ideas they about:

  • New planting
  • Enhancing existing trees and woodlands in the BCP conurbation

The engagement closed on Monday 2 January 2023. The engagement report is available that has fed into the draft Urban Forest Strategy, which is being consulted on from 14 August to 24 September 2023.

 Please tell us:

  • What type of planting you have in mind (e.g., street trees, individual trees in parks, orchards, woodland etc)
  • What benefits the planting would need to provide (e.g., cool temperatures/shade, reduce local flooding, provide protection against noise/pollution from cars, beautify the area etc)
  • Who, in your opinion, should be involved for the planting to be successful (e.g., a particular local institution – like a school, a community group, a business, a landowner)
