What is the staff panel?

The panel will be used to consult regularly on issues affecting working life at the council.

As a member of the staff panel what will I be asked to do?

You might be asked to complete an online survey or to take part in a discussion/focus group. These are likely to continue online, until we are able to hold face to face events safely.
Once you are a member of the panel, participation in surveys and discussion groups is voluntary, so you will be able to decide whether a survey/focus group if of interest to you and whether you have the time to participate.

Am I allowed to use work time to participate in the staff panel?

Yes, you will be allowed to participate in staff panel activities during work time, however participation in panel activities are voluntary and you can decide whether you have the time to participate.

Who can be a member of the panel?

Any member of staff below Service Director level can be a member of the staff panel. We are hoping that the panel will eventually have at least 400 members.

Who will know if I am a member of the staff panel?

The Insight Team will be responsible for managing membership of the panel and this information will not be sghared with anyone. Fellow panel members will only learn if you are a member of the panel if they see you whilst you are taking part in a focus group, or online meeting. As a panel member you will not be asked to discuss individual views raised outside of any activity you take part in. Individuals will never be identified in reports produced by the Insight Team.
