Schools Admission Arrangements Consultation 2023/24

The council is consulting on the School Admissions Policy from 1 December 2021 until 31 January 2022.

Which schools does the BCP Council School Admissions Policy cover?

This consultation covers maintained schools across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, and a number of schools within the BCP Council area will also be consulting on their admissions policies.

BCP Council, is the admissions authority for:

  • Burton C of E Primary School
  • Christchurch Infant School
  • Hillbourne Primary School
  • Mudeford Infant School
  • Mudeford Junior School
  • Somerford Primary Community School

What is the consultation about?

We have made no significant changes to the way the policy works for each school. We are consulting on this policy to:

  • reduce the published admission number at Burton C of E Primary School from 60 to 45
  • clarify how an advocation is managed if a family moves home during the application period
  • clarify that families who wish to a remain on a waiting list longer than one academic year need to reapply for the next academic year.
