Proposed Public Path Diversion: Public Footpath 29 - Stour Valley Way

Proposed Diversion of Public Footpath 29 - Stour Valley Way

Under the Highways Act 1980, surveying authorities have the power to make orders to create, extinguish (close) or divert a public right of way. Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, if the order is confirmed the Definitive Map and Statement (legal record of public rights of way) for BCP Council would be amended to reflect the change.

Canford School have applied to BCP Council to divert Public Footpath 29 under Section 119b of the Highways Act 1980. The intended purpose of the diversion is for the purpose of preventing crime and antisocial behaviour affecting the school.

The order will change the existing alignment of Public Footpath 29 to a new alignment illustrated on the map in the documents section on this page.
