Home to School Travel - Children and Young People
The consultation is now closed. Thank you for taking part.
Tell us what you think about getting to school or college
This survey is for children and young people who travel to school or college.
Your views matter. You might already get help with travel, you might need help in the future, or you might just want to share your ideas.
We want to know what helps you feel ready to learn. This will help us think about travel options that are right for you. There are no right or wrong answers. We just want to hear about your experiences and ideas.
Why your views are important
We are looking at how we help children and young people travel to school or college.
You can tell us about:
- how you travel now
- what works well
- what could be better
- what support you might need
Ways we can help with travel
Everyone is different, so the help you need to get to school or college might be different too.
This might mean:
- learning how to travel more independently, if this feels right for you
- using a bus pass
- sharing travel with other children or young people
- travelling in a taxi or minibus
- other support that helps you get to school or college safely
Have your say in the survey
If you would like to, please complete the children and young people’s survey and tell us what you think.
You can ask a parent, carer, teacher or another trusted adult to help you.
You do not have to answer every question. It is okay to answer only the questions you want to and you can stop at any time.
You can tell us what you think from Midday Tuesday 8 September to Midday Wednesday 7 October 2026.
We will listen to what you tell us. This will help us decide how travel support could work in the future.
