Your library service - help us shape the future

We would like your views about the library service and what you would like to see in the future to help inform the first library strategy for BCP Council.

We are seeking views on how you currently use the library service and what you would like for the service in the future. We would also like to hear from those residents not using the library service.

We have three surveys available online and paper versions are available in any BCP Council library

Adult Library Survey
Younger children's Survey
Children and young people's survey (for those aged 10 and over)

An Easy Read paper survey is available in any BCP library or can be viewed or printed from here.

We are also asking our home library service users their opinion through a survey distributed by our volunteers.

We are also working with a research company who are undertaking a sample survey on our behalf. If you are approached by them please consider taking part.

As a council we must provide a comprehensive and efficient library service for all people living, working and studying in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. We need to make sure our library service is sustainable and meets the needs of our communities.

What happens next?

The information from this engagement will be used alongside other information that we hold about our communities and how people use the library to draft a library strategy for BCP Council. There will then be a consultation asking for your feedback on the draft strategy.
