How to have your say

Our new draft Local Plan for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole sets out a strategy for how much, where and what type of development will take place across the BCP area up to 2039. It will provide planning policies and site allocations to guide change and new development proposals.Following our Issues and Options consultation which took place between January and March 2022, we are now consulting on our draft Local Plan (the &#39;Publication draft&#39; also&nbsp;referred to as&nbsp;the&nbsp;&#39;Regulation 19 Plan&#39;). &nbsp;The purpose of the consultation is to provide an opportunity for representations to be made on the Local Plan before it is examined by a Planning Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State. We need to ask specific questions about the draft Plan. These questions are set by government and are around legal compliance, soundness and how the plan has been prepared.Have your Say:The <a href="https://www.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/draft-Local-Plan-consultation" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">consultation documents</a> and <a href="https://www.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/draft-local-plan-policy-maps" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">policies maps</a> can be viewed on the BCP Council website. Publication Draft of the BCP Local Plan 

CIL is a ‘£ per sqm’ charge on new development to fund infrastructure needed to support growth of housing, employment, leisure and transport identified in the local plan.

Following the success of four School Streets pilot schemes in Spring and Summer 2022, BCP Council is now trialling a new phase of School Streets schemes at suitable locations within the local area. Our initiative will aim to create a safer, healthier and more sustainable environment for children going to school.
