Highway Safety Improvements: Kingsleigh Primary and The Bourne Academy

In order to improve safety for children travelling to school and to alleviate congestion issues on Ibbett Road and Bennion Road, the Council is considering a trial of the following measures starting in September 2026. This is in addition to the existing Safer School Street (closures at drop-off and pick-up times) on Hadow Road.

• A one-way street southbound along Bennion Road and Ibbett Road
• A 20mph speed limit on Hadow Rd, Bennion Rd, Ibbett Road and Pavan Gardens.
• Introducing timed No Waiting and No Loading on Hadow Road (north side)
• Additional timed disabled parking bays in Hadow Road and Pavan Gardens (north side)
• Parking restrictions (double yellow lines) at the Ibbett Road junction with Kingswell road and at the junction of Kingswell Road, Adamsfield Gardens, Kingswell Grove, Kingswell Gardens, Kinson Road and Caroline Road

If you are a resident of these roads or a parent/carer or staff member at either school, we would like your initial views on these proposed measures. Please note that, if it is decided to go ahead with the trial, you will have another opportunity to provide your feedback after the trial has started.
