Local Transport Plan 4
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4) consultation.
The consultation has now closed and we’re carefully reviewing all the feedback received. Your views are incredibly valuable and will help shape the final version of the plan, which we expect to publish next spring. Once the consultation reports are ready, you’ll be able to view them here.
Help Shape the Future of Transport in Dorset and Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole
We’re working together with Dorset Council to develop our new joint Local Transport Plan (LTP4) - a long-term strategy that will guide transport improvements across the region for the next 15 years.
This plan will replace the current LTP3, which ends in 2026, and we want your views to help shape it.
Phases
Issues and Opportunities Consultation
In early 2024, BCP Council and Dorset Council ran an issues and opportunites consultation online and in person. We wanted to hear from residents, businesses, and visitors about their travel experiences—what’s working, what’s not, and where things could improve.
Thanks to your feedback, we’ve started shaping a new Local Transport Plan (LTP), which sets out a vision for better transport and travel across the county.
Here’s what happened:
- Over 3,000 people filled out the survey
- Around 300 people came to events across the county
- More than 90 local groups shared their thoughts
We’ve looked closely at everything you told us and published the results. You can explore them below.
