Local Plan Scoping Consultation

We are creating a new Local Plan for the BCP area. It will guide where new homes, jobs, community facilities and infrastructure will go over the 15 year period from 2028 to 2043. Once complete, the Local Plan will be used to help make planning decisions.

We are at the start of the plan-making process and the first stage of consultation is called the Scoping Consultation. It provides an opportunity for early engagement in the plan-making process. We want feedback from our local residents and stakeholders about what the plan should contain and how future engagement should be carried out.

Whilst some parts of the Local Plan are set by national policy and cannot be changed, there are many important decisions, such as the vision for our area and how growth should happen, which can be shaped by your feedback.

Please read the information and complete the feedback form to tell us what you think about the scope of the Local Plan and if there is anything else you think should be included. There are 3 questions included in the feedback form:

Q1. Is there anything missing from the key issues we have identified for the plan?

Q2. Are there any other topics or specific policies that should be in the Local Plan scope?

Q3. Are there any other ways we should engage with people or organisations?

We will use your feedback to help shape the vision and strategy for the Local Plan for future consultations. We will publish the findings on this page so you can see how your feedback has helped influence the plan.

Please note we are not inviting comments on the suitability of specific sites at this stage. At the next stage there will be the opportunity to give your views about the proposed strategy and potential sites which will be included in the plan.
