Local Plan: Call for Sites 2026
'Call for Sites' is an early stage in the Local Plan process where local planning authorities invite landowners, developers, and the public to suggest potential development sites for future use. These sites are then assessed to inform the Local Plan, which guides development decisions in the area. The call for sites helps identify land for various purposes, including housing, employment, and infrastructure.
If you wish to submit a site for consideration please complete this form.
In your submission please ensure that:
- a separate form is completed for each site
- no sites outside of the BCP Council area boundary are submitted
- any submissions for housing sites or mixed use sites including housing can accommodate at least 10 dwellings; and
- any submissions for economic development are a minimum size of 0.25ha / 500m2.
If you wish to promote a site, please ensure that the form, site plan and any additional information is submitted by Monday 27 July 2026.
If you submitted a Call for Sites form in 2025, you do not need to complete this form again. A map of the sites submitted last year can be viewed at Aurora.
Please note there will be an opportunity to comment on sites in the 'Plan Content and Evidence' consultation in October 2026.
Key Dates
Call for sites starts: Monday 15 June 2026
Call for sites ends: Monday 27 July 2026
Local Plan: Streets with Potential
In addition to sites, we are also looking for streets which have the potential for a higher density of development. Ideally these should be on a bus route allowing people good accessibility without needing a car.
To suggest any streets for our consideration please email your ideas to bcplocalplan@bcpcouncil.gov.uk with a brief explanation why the street is suitable.
