Have your say on proposed changes to operating hours at Hurn Waste Transfer Station

• BCP Council is proposing a minor change to the permitted operating hours at Hurn Waste Transfer Station to allow operations on Saturdays and update the permitted waste streams to match those listed on the Environment Agency permit for the site.
• This change would provide greater flexibility in managing waste and recycling collected across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, helping to support the efficient delivery of essential local waste services.
• The proposal would enable the site to operate on Saturdays alongside its current Monday to Friday schedule. No physical changes to the site, buildings, or site expansion are proposed as part of this application.
• Before submitting the planning application, we want to hear from local residents, businesses, and anyone with an interest in the site.
• Our drop-in event is an opportunity to meet the project team, learn more about the proposal, ask questions and share your views. All feedback received will be reviewed and taken into account as part of the planning process.

Please note: the proposal relates only to a variation in the site’s permitted operating hours and updated waste streams. No new buildings, site expansion, or significant operational changes are proposed.

The event is informal, and you are welcome to attend at any time during the session.

Members of the project team will be available throughout to answer questions and explain the proposal.
