Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Policies Consultation

This consultation has now closed.

 We consulted on proposed changes to the following Hackney Carriage and Private Hire policies for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP):

  • Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Policy
  • Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Policy
  • Private Hire Operator Policy.

These policies set out the principles that BCP Council propose to apply in exercising its Hackney Carriage and Private hire licensing functions from 2025 to 2030.

We wanted to hear the views of the public and key stakeholders on the proposed changes to all three policies and on questions relating to complaints and wheelchair accessibility.

  • Reading the Private Hire Operator Policy section of the Table of Proposed Changes before giving us your views using the relevant online survey below. The draft policy document can be viewed here.
  • Alternatively, you can download paper copies of the surveys in the 'Documents' section of this page and returning them to: Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Policies Consultation, Research and Consultation Team, BCP Council, Civic Centre, Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, BH2 6DY; or drop them into the 'Have Your Say' boxes in any of BCP’s libraries
  • You can also collect paper copies of the policies and surveys on request at any of any of BCP’s libraries.
