Our Approach to Learning and Development at BCP Homes
Have your say
BCP Homes is seeking views on "Our Approach to Learning and Development".
Our approach applies to BCP Homes staff in housing related roles, including staff who deliver housing services directly and those who manage or oversee those services.
BCP Homes has developed a proposed approach in response to new national standards for social housing landlords, which come into force on 1 October 2026.
The standards say landlords must explain how they will support staff to develop the skills, knowledge, experience and behaviour needed to deliver good housing services.
We would like to hear your views before our approach is finalised.
What the Learning and Development document covers
The proposed approach explains how BCP Homes will support staff learning and development to ensure staff have the skills, knowledge and experience needed to provide good quality homes and services.
It sets out:
- which housing related roles are covered
- how learning and development needs will be identified
- the training, qualifications and professional development expected for different roles
- qualification requirements for senior housing managers and directors
- how learning and development will be monitored and reviewed
- the responsibilities of managers and staff
- how learning and development links to performance management and service improvement
Our approach also explains how resident feedback, satisfaction surveys, complaints, performance information and regulatory requirements will be used to help shape learning and development priorities.
