New street number and address signs to 34–44 and 46-56 Green Road

Jordan •3 months ago Install new, clearly visible signage to 34–44 and 46-56 Green Road that includes both the building numbers and the street name “Green Road.”The current signage only displays the building numbers, which is causing ongoing confusion for delivery drivers, visitors, and service providers. Many mistakenly believe the properties are part of Baiter Gardens around the corner, leading to frequent misdirected deliveries and difficulty locating the correct addresses.Improved signage would help ensure accurate wayfinding, reduce disruption to residents, and improve access for emergency and service vehicles.Example of current sign. Plant Trees outside 34-56 Green Road

Jordan •3 months ago Suggestion for BCP Homes Neighbourhood InspectionI would like to propose planting trees along Green Road, specifically outside numbers 34–56. A photo has been provided with a red dot marking a potential planting location to help indicate a suitable spot.Introducing trees in this area would improve the visual appeal of the street, enhance air quality, and create a more welcoming environment for residents. It could also provide shade and encourage local biodiversity. If considered feasible, selecting appropriate, low-maintenance tree species and ensuring the location does not interfere with footpaths, utilities, or visibility would help ensure a successful and sustainable outcome.I believe this would be a positive addition to the neighbourhood and would be appreciated by local residents. There was also a “plant a tree” scheme in 1973, from which the existing apple and pear trees at the rear of the flats originated. Unfortunately, many of the other trees planted at that time are no longer present. Reintroducing trees could help restore this original landscaping approach and the character of the estate. In addition, there may be an opportunity for trees to be sponsored in memory of loved ones who have passed away in the area. This could provide a meaningful way for residents to contribute to the environment while creating a lasting and positive legacy within the neighbourhood.

Area Maintenance / BCP Inspection Action – 34–44 Green Road & 46-56 Green Road

Jordan •3 months ago All images relate to 34–44 Green Road Area Maintenance / BCP Inspection Action – 34–44 Green Road & 46-56 Green RoadScope of Works: Paint all shed doors located in the rear garden area. (or replace them to match the single one that has been replaced as many are rotten) Paint the main front communal doors. Paint the rear communal door. Replace the rusty handle on the main front communal door. Install silent (soft-close) door closers on both the front and rear communal doors to prevent slamming. (Front door broken and door slams very loudly) Repair and secure drain covers in the rear garden to eliminate noise when walked over. Jet wash all paving slabs around the building. Jet wash the washing line area to remove algae buildup. Install an additional (4th) washing line to match the number of ground floor flats. Purpose (BCP Context): Maintain secure, reliable access and egress points. Reduce wear and tear on doors and fixtures. Minimise noise disturbance to residents, particularly during night-time hours. Ensure external areas are safe, clean, and free from hazards. Provide adequate shared facilities for residents. Risk if Not Addressed: Corrosion leading to door or handle failure. Increased security risk due to faulty or poorly closing doors. Ongoing noise disturbance from slamming doors and loose drain covers, regularly waking residents at night. Slip hazard due to algae buildup on paving slabs and washing line area. Potential trip hazards and further deterioration of drainage infrastructure. Insufficient washing facilities leading to resident dissatisfaction and potential disputes. Negative impact on resident wellbeing and increased complaints. Priority: Medium overall High for door closers, drain covers, and jet washing due to safety risk and night-time disturbance Additional Notes: Use weather-resistant exterior paint suitable for wood/metal surfaces. Ensure replacement handle is corrosion-resistant and robust. Door closers should be adjustable for smooth, quiet closing. Drain covers should be properly seated, levelled, and secured (e.g., anti-rattle fixings or padding if required). Jet washing should include treatment to remove and inhibit algae regrowth. Ensure the new washing line is installed securely, positioned appropriately, and does not obstruct access routes. Inspect surrounding ground conditions contributing to drainage or algae issues.

Installation of bin storage units

Jordan •3 months ago Example of Bin Storage Units at Perry Gardens Proposed location of Bin Storage unitsI would like to raise a concern regarding the current bin provision serving 34–44 and 46–56 Green Road, as well as the Whatleigh Close maisonettes. The six standard bins currently located at the rear of 34–44 and 46–56 Green Road are no longer sufficient to accommodate the increased number of residents now living in these buildings. This has led to ongoing issues with overflow, excess waste being left around the bins, and a general decline in cleanliness and hygiene in the area.In addition, the existing bins used by the Whatleigh Close maisonettes are also no longer adequate and contribute to the same problems.I would therefore suggest that these existing bins be removed and replaced with a more suitable waste management solution. This could include the installation of larger-capacity bin storage units in a more appropriate location—such as along the pathway adjacent to 46–56 Green Road, leading to the Whatleigh Close maisonettes—with sufficient capacity to meet current demand. As an example of a suitable solution, bins similar to those installed in Perry Gardens would be appropriate, as they provide better capacity, organisation, and visual tidiness. A photo of these has been attached, along with a map indicating the proposed location for the new units.A revised approach like this would help reduce overflow, improve the appearance of the area, and ensure waste is managed in a cleaner, safer, and more efficient way for all residents.
