Suggestion for BCP Homes Neighbourhood Inspection
I would like to propose planting trees along Green Road, specifically outside numbers 34–56. A photo has been provided with a red dot marking a potential planting location to help indicate a suitable spot.
Introducing trees in this area would improve the visual appeal of the street, enhance air quality, and create a more welcoming environment for residents. It could also provide shade and encourage local biodiversity.
If considered feasible, selecting appropriate, low-maintenance tree species and ensuring the location does not interfere with footpaths, utilities, or visibility would help ensure a successful and sustainable outcome.
I believe this would be a positive addition to the neighbourhood and would be appreciated by local residents.
There was also a “plant a tree” scheme in 1973, from which the existing apple and pear trees at the rear of the flats originated. Unfortunately, many of the other trees planted at that time are no longer present. Reintroducing trees could help restore this original landscaping approach and the character of the estate.
In addition, there may be an opportunity for trees to be sponsored in memory of loved ones who have passed away in the area. This could provide a meaningful way for residents to contribute to the environment while creating a lasting and positive legacy within the neighbourhood.
