Multi-use with long term partners & tenants

From "Help us create a long-term plan for Upton House to thrive"

Go to the project

One way to share the financial burden of this great local asset is to make Upton House an attractive location for businesses & partnerships over the long term. This is not just hospitality and venue use, it could also mean having tenants who have skin in the game to the long term success of the property through longer-term leases linked to some incentives & commitment to invest in the fabric (businesses are more likely to commit and invest if they have longer-term certainty over what they will get in return).

Multi-use of capex & opex intensive properties like Upton House is vital for its long-term success, and business partners need to feel they can be part of this success over the long term. There are good examples of similar properties across the country that have successfully taken this approach. Broader usage could also increase visitor numbers (depending on the nature of those organisations).

Separately, accessibility could be improved from the Castleman trailway (though this may already be addressed with the current works by the A35/Poole Road junction) and Poole town by improving parts of the cycle track around Holes Bay, and having some more road signage locally to highlight the property.

Finally, why not get Upton House featured on TV, such as a set to a drama or advert (decent revenue opportunity - speak to some location finders for tv & film), or even as a local feature in programmes such as Escape To The Country!

Not sure how the concept of business use and leasing would fit in with use by regular and accessible use by the community? What does the proposer have in mind?
