Food production, back in time
From "Help us create a long-term plan for Upton House to thrive"

I don't think as a local society that we value or appreciate the resource that land and building such as Upton manor are. Currently plans are being made to divide the land and look at use of the house. I believe a bigger more creative vision for this space could reignite historic uses for food and employment benefits to the local community. It could reimagine fish production through Aquaponics and reservoir trout production. As the original family traded in fish. There could be again land management through grazing and livestock management. Production of highly sought after organic Beef tallow and like products. It seems such a shame to either keep a sizable portion of land and a beautiful building for viewing of the public and not create and amazing community asset for food and shelter for those who need it. The house could accommodate a concept like The Emmaus project which housing homeless and puts them to work. Weddings and events could also continue as high revenue. Agri tourism could also be a feature where people come to experience the land and properties being used well.
