Local Plan

This is where we will publish BCP Council's Local Plan consultations.

We are creating a new Local Plan for the BCP area. It will guide where new homes, jobs, community facilities and infrastructure will go over the 15 year period from 2028 to 2043. Once complete, the Local Plan will be used to help make planning decisions.

The Local Plan will include three stages of consultation which you can get involved in:

• Now – Scoping stage (June 2026)

Help shape the vision by telling us what issues matter most, anything else the plan should include and how best to engage with people going forward.

• Plan content and evidence stage (October 2026)

Comment on the evidence, proposed development strategy, site allocations and policy approaches.

• Draft Plan consultation (September 2027)

Comment on the final draft with the detailed policies and site allocations.
