CCTV Survey 2021

BCP Council has installed CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) cameras in various locations within the conurbation for the purposes of reducing crime, disorder, anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime by helping to provide a safer environment for those people who live and work in the area and for visitors travelling through the area.

We periodically carry out surveys in order to gauge concerns, support or feedback from our residents regarding the use of a public space surveillance system.

The survey closed on 12 December 2021

We are certified by the National Security Inspectorate as being fully compliant with the Surveillance Camera Commissioners Code of Practice and 12 Guiding Principles. These principles include, legitimacy, privacy, compliance, transparency and accountability.
