How can BCP Council work with residents, community and business organisations to deliver services for our area?
over 1 year agoCLOSED: This ideas has now closed for contributions. The council already works with the community voluntary sector, charities, volunteers and businesses who are providing advice and delivering hundreds of services in our local area.
- Do you have any ideas how we can further this work?
- Could a service currently run by the council be provided differently?
- Could a group of residents, community groups, volunteers provide a service instead?
- What could the council do to enable this?
Please take part by submitting your ideas, liking or commenting on other ideas. This is a public space so please be kind to everyone. Please don’t share personal information about yourself or others. Choose a screen name that does not reveal your full name. Contributions represent people’s own views and not a recommendation or endorsement by the council.
Rustyover 1 year agoIncrease what you pay for care packages
With the desperate shortage of carers in BCP, with a better hourly rate, this would discourage present carers from leaving the care profession
0 comment1Derek Heritageover 1 year agoContinue the excellent work on cycle routes which will make massive difference once completed. But make sure they include Christchurch.
Reduce Congestion and improve air quality.

Stop wasting money on cycle schemes

You are constantly bullying people to use public transport, cycling, and walking whilst excluding vehicles and in a utopian world this would be okay but you forget many people have health issues that are not evident unlike someone using a wheelchair. It is time you adjusted your views to this and stop negatively discriminating against these people who out of necessity use their own transport to go to various events, locations, and venues. It should be an inclusive society but in my opinion, is getting worse for these people. :-(

Especially in winter or off season for the beach huts. Use empty shops to encourage local crafters / businesses to set up on a short term basis for periods such as Christmas. Would encourage visitors. Similar scheme in Swanage.
